Stilettos in the Newsroom

” If a book is worth reading, it is worth buying.”    – John Ruskin

Stilettos by Rashmi Kumar is a typical chick-lit novel with a desi-tadka and delves into the story about a 28-year-old female journalist, Radhika Kanetkar. The book traces the journey of her career and love life. This book gives a peek into the world of journalism, the highs and lows of the profession, work-culture and office politics.

This 138-page book is an easy, light, quick read and generates a few laughs now and then but sadly, falls short of being highly reccommended. Watch out for moral of the story at the end of each chapter that are masqueraded as ‘Rules of Journalism’ by the author. But serious readers beware, as you will be dissapointed because the language lacks lustre and hence, very strictly average.

Read it when you’re bored, don’t have any high expectations because of the book’s catchy title and you won’t be dissapointed.
